Creating a Character!

Today it is your chance to buil your own cartoonish character in Illustrator. Once you have finished the bunny, you may begin creating a person, animal or abstract creature all of your own.

• Must be a detailed cartoon character
• have shading
• use a variety of colors/textures
• include at least one prop (hat, carrot, y0-yo, pirate sword etc)
• A patterned, textured, or detailed background (we will learn this)
• Must be classroom appropriate
• Must involve at least 4 colors/shades of color, multiple shapes/objects, and details.
  

Adobe Illustrator

Today we will start working with adobe illustrator cs3. Illustrator is a design tool that draws in VECTORS, these are shapes/lines without any pixels. Vector art is great because it can be scaled to any size without distortion. more info can be found here:

Details:

You are going to be making a poster for the SC Annual. The posters will be 11" x 17" at 400DPI. There are two options:

OPTION A:

• Advertise Annual Day
• May 27th
• To pick up your annual you must PAY YOUR FINES, RETURN YOUR BOOKS/LAPTOP, and have PURCHASED AN ANNUAL

OPTION 2:

• Advertise Yearbook Sales
  
• Prices are $65 w/ ASB and $75 w/o
• There are only 31 yearbooks left, buy yours before we they sold out!
